Lydex Audio ("Lydex", "we") makes a music player for Android. This policy
explains what the app does with data. The short version: Lydex is a player,
not a service — it has no user accounts, runs no analytics, and does not sell
or share your data. Almost everything stays on your device.
Data stored on your device
- Your music and its metadata. Lydex reads audio files you choose,
on the device or on network shares you add. Titles, artists, artwork,
ratings, favorites, playlists and playback settings are stored locally.
- Network-share credentials. If you add an SMB, FTP, WebDAV or DLNA
source, its address and login are stored on the device to reconnect. They
are sent only to the server you configured.
Network connections the app makes
- Album/artist artwork (optional). When enabled, Lydex fetches cover
art from public music-metadata services using the track's title and artist.
No identifiers about you are sent.
- Your network music shares. Streaming from a share you added
connects only to that server, on your own network or one you control.
- Last.fm scrobbling (optional, off by default). If you connect a
Last.fm account, the tracks you play are sent to Last.fm under your account.
This happens only while enabled and you can disconnect at any time. Last.fm's
handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.
- License verification. To confirm the app was obtained legitimately,
Lydex uses Google Play Integrity, which returns a signed licensing verdict.
This check contains no personal content — only whether the install is
licensed.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no third-party trackers.
- No analytics or usage-profiling SDKs.
- No user accounts on our servers; we do not collect your email, contacts,
location, or listening history.
Permissions and why
- Read audio / media — to find and play your music.
- Internet — artwork, network shares, optional Last.fm, license check.
- Bluetooth — to read and set the A2DP audio codec of connected
headphones for higher-quality output.
- Notifications & foreground service — to show playback controls and
keep audio running in the background.
Children
Lydex is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change and the new
version will be posted on this page.
