Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is issued by Lydex Audio Inc. ("we", "us").

The Lydex app carries no ads, analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and has no account inside it. The only network activity it requires is running the free trial and verifying your licence — for which it sends a device identifier and Google Play tokens to our own licensing service; everything else is triggered by features you choose to use (such as fetching missing artwork or lyrics, or Last.fm). This website only keeps what you actively give it when you create an account or post.

The app contains no analytics, telemetry or crash-reporting SDK, and has no account system. All of the following stays on your device and never leaves the phone:

• Your music files and their embedded tags
• Playlists, playback position and listening history
• Effect settings and DSP plugin parameters
• Connected DAC model and capabilities (used to choose the output path)

To run the 14-day free trial and unlock the app after purchase, it communicates with our own licensing service (license.lydexplayer.app). It sends: a device identifier (Android ID), a Google Play Integrity token, the app version and package name; and, when you buy, the Google Play purchase token. What the service stores is a one-way hash of that device identifier (which cannot be reversed back to your Android ID), your trial start and expiry, purchase status, and the time and app version of your app’s most recent check. This is used only to run the trial, unlock the full version and prevent abuse — it involves no name, email or contacts, and the app has no account.

The Integrity token is issued by Google; we pass it to Google’s API to decode and receive only a genuine-install / licensed verdict — never your Google account details. Google’s own privacy policy governs its handling of that data.

All other network activity comes from features you choose to use, and happens only when you use them:

• Fetching missing artwork and lyrics sends the album, artist and track name (lyrics also the track length) to third-party cover-art and lyrics services to find a match
• Last.fm: once you link an account, your plays are sent to Last.fm; nothing is sent if you do not link one
• Network music sources (SMB / FTP / WebDAV / UPnP) connect to servers you configure yourself; the credentials are stored only on your device
• DAC diagnostics: if you choose to submit them, information about your device and DAC is sent to us to improve compatibility

The app needs permission to read local audio files, and USB device access when you use a USB DAC. Those permissions are used for playback only, never to gather information.

Reading public pages requires no account, and we run no third-party advertising or analytics scripts. The server keeps access logs (IP address, timestamp, path, user agent) for troubleshooting and abuse prevention, retained for no more than 30 days.

If you register a community account we store: your email address (for sign-in, verification and password reset), your username and any profile details you enter, a hash of your password (we cannot recover the original), the content you post, and your sign-in sessions including IP and device identifier so you can review and revoke unfamiliar logins.

If you sign in with Google we receive only your email address and display name. We never see your Google password or any other Google data.

When you submit a bug report, the app version, Android version, device model and DAC model it contains are shown publicly alongside it, so other users can tell whether they hit the same issue. Please keep personal or sensitive information out of reports and attachments.

We use strictly necessary cookies only: a session credential once you sign in, and your interface language preference. No advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. Browsing while signed out sets no cookies at all.

Lydex Audio Inc. does not sell, rent or trade your personal information. To operate the service, these providers process the corresponding data: Google Cloud (hosting for our servers, database and licensing service), Google Play (app distribution, and the Integrity and Developer APIs used to verify installs and purchases), and our transactional email provider (your address when we send verification or notification mail). Features you enable in the app may contact their respective third parties — cover-art and lyrics providers, and Last.fm — as described above.

We disclose information to authorities only where the law clearly requires it.

You can view and edit your profile, revoke sessions, delete your own posts, or close your account at any time. Closing an account deletes your account data; content you posted is either anonymised or deleted at your request — where the two conflict, we honour the deletion request over discussion continuity.

The community features are not directed at children under 13. We delete such accounts if we become aware of them.

We update the date at the top of this page whenever the policy changes. For material changes to how data is handled we post a notice on the site and, where appropriate, email registered users.
